The blog “Good As You” discusses the gay marriage crisis in the states, as well as homophobia in US media and controversy in political elections. This blog trolls through social media and looks at opinion leaders, what they are posting and saying. They also hone in on homophobic religion leaders. They like to highlight the use of words like satanic, ungodly and evil while talking about homosexuality. While I think that it is very important to highlight the injustices that people in the LGBT community face, I think that this blog can use a different approach. I feel that instead of a negative approach and hating on people, they could use a positive approach and show that they are the bigger people. Negativity breeds negativity so if they continue the negativity, then it will never stop. They could instead talk about the good inside the LGBT community, or the good of people helping the LGBT community. I am not saying that they should sweep the negativity under the rug, but out of sight, out of mind. Homophobia will never truly go away; there will always be haters in the world.
This blog does talk about GLADD and the work it is does with the LGBT community. GLADD is the Gay & Lesbian Alliance against Defamation does a lot of advocacy work and work with the media to bring the issues of the LGBT community into the light of the community.
